An inside look at our summer camps
Summer brought a wave of creativity and educational fun to the employees’ children in Ecuador, Colombia, and Morocco.
Learning while having fun was the main goal of our Bolton’s Summer Camps for our Food plants’ employees’ children, and we can assure you that this mission was fully achieved!
We’re very proud of this initiative, which empowered young minds from the ages of 6 to 15 years, offering them tailored programs based on their specific age in the regions of Colombia, Ecuador, and Morocco, yet another example of community-based activities we delivered in these areas.
The camps provided a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment where the children could engage in a variety of fun and educational activities.
Aligned with Bolton’s values of inclusion and community-building, the camps were open to both permanent and temporary workers’ children in order to reinforce a sense of belonging.
Each week’s program blended learning and play to encourage children to explore new interests, express themselves, and build friendships under the supervision of qualified instructors and activity leaders. These camps also provided a reliable childcare solution, supporting parents’ work-life balance while fostering children’s creativity, social skills, and self-confidence.
The results were incredibly positive for each camp:
- In Colombia, fun and creativity were brought to life for 60 kids aged 6 to 12. Daily themes ranged from sports and talent shows to ecology and cinema, and children have truly enjoyed a rich program of activities and even visited a countryside school to meet animals and ride ponies. It was a true celebration of joy, growth, and community.
- In Ecuador, 190 children took part in a one-month camp full of learning and laughter. The program included English and math games, as well as less traditional learning experiences such as eco-adventures and cooking workshops, so that every day was packed with purpose! Kids even prepared healthy snacks and enjoyed treats like ice cream and slushies for a truly delicious summer.
- In Morocco, five weeks of age-specific summer camps were organized to welcome 250 kids. Children explored music, arts and crafts, sports and outdoor games, as well as aquatic and swimming sessions. The program was designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth through music and singing, arts and crafts, sports and outdoor games, as well as aquatic and swimming sessions.
The families’ feedback also reported high satisfaction with the quality, organization, and dedication of the facilitators. New friendships and interests were discovered, and many children expressed excitement about the range of workshops offered. Moreover, the camps represented a chance for parents to significantly ease summer childcare responsibilities and secure their own peace of mind.
It was one of the many steps we have taken to foster internal cohesion and contribute to promoting a family-friendly workplace culture.
