Pink October in Bolton

Learn about the important initiatives we have set up to foster prevention and promote the good health of our people during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

October is a key month for the health of our community: globally, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and when it comes to prevention, leaders like Bolton want to be a driver for positive change for all their people.

As a company that always strives to care for balance, Bolton has set up several prevention initiatives for key countries such as Morocco, Ecuador, and Colombia.

The program focuses on early detection and access to specialized care for female employees, reinforcing a culture of prevention, care, and support within the workplace community.

Through screenings, awareness activities, and follow-up medical support, the initiative seeks to empower women to prioritize their health and ensure timely diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Furthermore, these initiatives encourage self-care and highlight the importance of timely diagnosis to safeguard the health of female employees.

Specifically, in Morocco (Agadir), in our food plant Nouvelle Cosarno, all female employees could voluntarily take part in cervical cancer screening, AIDS testing, and take advantage of awareness sessions and direct testing on-site.

All the activities were carried out between October 14 and 16, 2025, in partnership with the delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and its qualified medical team.

Moreover, as in previous years, a dedicated budget has been allocated to support any required follow-up actions (such as biopsies, mammograms, etc.) for those who may initially test positive.

A total of 250 participants took part in the screening, while the awareness sessions reached all women working in the plant (both direct employees and agency workers), ensuring broad participation and engagement across the different groups.

Meanwhile, in our food plant in Ecuador, Bolton launched a one-month-long breast cancer detection campaign to encourage 213 employees to undergo preventive examinations. All medical services were carried out in collaboration with SOLCA Manta, the local oncology institution renowned for its specialized expertise in cancer prevention and treatment.

To better support all employees and reinforce a culture of care and well-being, those who receive a diagnosis will continue to receive treatment and medical support from October through December, ensuring timely and comprehensive care.

Finally, more than 200 women in the food Gralco plant, Barranquilla (Colombia), were engaged in a program to boost breast health and prevention from September to December 2025.

On October 22, the plant hosted a Women’s Health Workshop featuring educational and interactive activities to promote breast cancer awareness, foster engagement, solidarity, and a culture of self-care across the workforce. The event included demonstrations of self-examination techniques led by EPS Mutualser medical professionals, a motivational talk by a breast cancer survivor from Fundación AMESE, and activities such as a “Pink Human Ribbon” and a symbolic mural under the slogan “Tócate para que no te toque”.

Throughout the campaign period, free mammograms and breast ultrasounds (the latter offered in cases of dense breast tissue) are provided to employees, ensuring access to precise diagnostic tools. Any detected anomalies will receive immediate follow-up and treatment, supported by Profamilia and the company’s Occupational Health and Wellness teams.

These initiatives are part of a larger plan for Bolton to take care of its people, because we know that access to healthcare is not equally accessible in all areas. We couldn’t be prouder to play a role in our people’s health journey and be a positive contributor.
